Each child has a right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child. This is stated in Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which was also signed by Germany in 1990.
This corresponds to the goals of the association Kinderschutz und Jugendwohlfahrt e.V., which maintains places of recreation and encounter for children and youth groups. The focus is on giving children and young people the opportunity to make holidays from their social environment and to experience nature.
